---------------------- www.psychlotron.org.uk ---------------------- Name of resource: Obedience: collaborative learning task (forum) Submitted by: Aidan Sammons Specification details: AQA-A Other specifications: Edexcel; AQA-B Guidance: instructions for a class based activity using collaborating learning tools (a forum). This one was designed for a Moodle VLE but would presumably work in any VLE that allowed you to use forums. Presumably would also work for distance learning and as an out-of-class activity but I've not tested it these ways. Students are asked to write a letter to Stanley Milgram explaining what they think is wrong with his studies of obedience (internal & external validity). Each must post their letter to the forum. They must then choose someone else's letter and respond to it as if they were Stanley Milgram, defending their study against the criticisms made. This activity was lots of fun and students reported that it really helped their critical skills. The Many of the letters and responses attracted additional inpout from other students and the resulting forum eventually ran to several hundred posts and responses involving about seventy students. The resource you download gives you moodle forum settings and instruction text in a Rich Text Format document so you can copy and paste it into your VLE.
