Locating Resources

Click on a heading in the menu on the left. This will either bring up a resource page or expand the menu to show clickable sub-headings. Once you have found the resource page you want, scroll down to see the complete list of available resources.

How are resources organised?

Each resource page is organised into the following categories:

Information and presentationsThis section contains all resources whose primary purpose is to convey information, for example, notes, factsheets or Power Point presentations.
Activities and worksheetsThis section contains all resources based around learning activities. Where two or more resources are intended for use together (e.g. a presentation and accompanying worksheet) this is indicated.
Interactive resourcesThis section contains interactive ICT/ILT resources. Instructions for use are included with each resource.
Links to external sitesThese are links to other websites that contain useful content. These sites are not maintained by psychlotron.org.uk

How do I know if a resource is for me?

Basically, by downloading it and having a look. The specification(s) with which each resource is compatible are listed alongside the resource as follows:

AQA-A resourceAQA Specification A
AQA-B resourceAQA Specification B
OCR resourceOCR
Edexcel resourceEdexcel

The specification given first is that for which the resource was originally written. Any that follow are those on which the same or a related topic appears. So if you see:

OCR resourceEdexcel resource

this means that the resource was written to meet the requirements of part of the OCR psychology specification, but may also be relevant to part of the Edexcel specification. In any case, we strongly recommend that you check the resource carefully against whichever specification you are teaching, as the information given on psychlotron.org.uk is indicative, not definitive.

How should I use these resources?

It's up to you, really. An 'about' file is supplied for each resource which describes how the author intended it to be used and giving recommendations and instructions where appropriate but it is, after all, a free country. Use your imagination.

What types of resource are available?

The file type for each resource is listed. Most resources are in one of the following file formats:
